Richard's teaching partner is essential to the success of his classes. In addition to showing the
woman's steps and style, she is his second pair of eyes to notice what students are or are not
getting. And occasionally it's important to show how not to do a dance figure.
The top priority of Richard's teaching partners is that students succeed in mastering the dances, so Mirage takes
time before, during and after classes to answer individual questions and assist with helpful pointers.
Mirage Marrou was a Stanford Dance Minor and psychology major who has been assisting
Richard in his dance classes for the past nine years. She has graduated from Stanford and has chosen to stay in the Bay Area
for the vibrant dance scene. Mirage has been dancing since the age of three, and her dance
experience has included social and historical ballroom dance, ballet, jazz, tap, ballet folklorico, Irish, hip hop and Broadway.
Mirage has partnered Richard's classes in Paris, Geneva, Moscow and across the U.S. from Alaska to the Poconos.
Mirage is also an excellent instructor in waltz and all other social dance forms.
