Stanford Dance at Spoleto - 4

The 1861 Ball

The Saturday night 1861 Grand Ball was held in Rocca Albornoziana, the 14th century castle overlooking Spoleto.

Dancers from Italy, U.S.A., France and Switzerland gathered in the courtyard before the ball.

Then the ball was held in the castle's main hall.  Historic social dances for the ballgoers were interspersed with five dance exhibitions by the Stanford dance group.

One of three dinner and dessert breaks.
